Linda gave a wonderfully ethereal presentation to our garden club recently entitled The Art of Gardening. All enjoyed the visuals and the talk. In fact, several people have come up to me to praise Linda’s presentation.

Linda’s Garden presentation was very interesting, inspiring and enjoyable. Just hearing her presentation was the next best thing to actually being there at the various National Gardens as well as International Gardens

Linda, thank you for being a Traveling Gardener and for sharing all these beautiful gardens and their histories with us.

Linda presented “The Art of the Garden” at Weeders Garden Club today. This was my third time to hear her…each time a different gardening topic. She always uses beautiful photographs that she and her husband have taken at gardens around the world to illustrate her points. Linda is an inspiring speaker (and gardener), humorous and informative. Don’t miss an opportunity to hear one of her presentations.

Linda Larson is one of the best speakers our garden club has had. She moved from one section of her talk to the next with such ease so it was easy to follow. Her command of the material was excellent. Her power point was very well done with wonderful photos.

Linda Larson spoke to Laguna Beach Garden Club last week, sharing her travelogue of gardens across the world. I love to travel and visit any gardens along the way, so I took 2 pages of notes. The garden spots range from England, to New Zealand, Australia, Italy, Canada, & many states in our country. Excellent program & excellent speaker.

Excellent presentation to our Master Gardeners Group. What a delight to see and learn essential elements for a garden and to think about ways to incorporate in my own garden. It was like listening to visual poetry. Thanks

Kudos to Linda

Kudos to Linda Larson for her wonderful presentation “The Art of Garden Design.” When a speaker uses their delivery to model the very ideas (art, heart and the creative process) they are sharing, the audience’s learning is more profound because the speaker becomes a model. Linda Larson reminds us that just as gardening can be a work of art, similar approaches apply to the design and delivery of a creative presentation. Only the tools used to design different kinds of art differ. Linda’s main tools are “wandering, wondering and noticing” and she does a terrific job of documenting the results.

In addition to stunning visuals, Mrs. Larson added quotations from well known and lesser known writers/poets. Beautiful pictures and words. Also, she gave me a feeling of confidence that I could try the projects and tips she recommends. From her years of personal gardening and world travels to observe and photograph gardens, it was a program to experience both the practical and aesthetic side of the gardening world.

Between the serene and varied tree images, and Linda’s soothing voice, I was transported back to my youth. Hours of communing with my neighborhood trees, eating their warm fruit, enjoying the elevated views, and feeling quietly powerful. Thanks, Linda (and her excellent photographer!).

Remarkable Trees

Linda Larson truly has an appreciation of God’s gift of trees.

She shared her experiences, her reactions, and appreciation of Mother Nature through her power point presentation of pictures from 450 gardens. She put together this hour presentation based on her personal interest and insights to the amazement of the audience.

We will never see a sunset or a sunrise or be in a forest after today without reflecting on the insights Linda gave us. This came from God and we need to do our best to preserve this gift.

Our members were inspired by her talk.

Traveling To Gardens

I had the delightful experience of attending Linda Larson’s “Traveling Gardens” program to the New Frontiers group at MCC. I wasn’t disappointed. Linda’s remarks about history and art of world gardens and her husband’s fine photography immediately encourage the audience to learn more about gardens and their benefits. She has something for everyone to enjoy and her style of presentation makes the audience immediately feel at ease and enjoy.

I especially liked her comparison of Arizona gardens with world famous gardens as the St. Anthony’s Greek Orthodox Garden in Florence and the famous gardens in Europe. It is a place I will put on my list to visit. Years ago I visited the Japanese Friendship Garden in Phoenix and totally forgot about it until Linda reminded me. These are beautiful gardens I can enjoy that are near. She advised us on less crowded times, things to bring, economical entry fees and to make sure we allow enough time to truly experience each garden! Her handout is one you won’t just recycle as it contains valuable information. I promise I won’t wear yellow, the favorite color of bugs!

The first presentation I attended by Linda was her Trees program. Traveling Gardens was equally as informative and I look forward to her next program.

I look forward to her “Traveling Gardener” articles every month. In one I found a garden in Lincoln, NE that I can visit when I’m back in my home state. I always look for new places to visit in and around San Jose, CA, when visiting my son and Linda has given me two new gardens there. Anyone attending her presentations and reading her articles finds something of special value they can relate.

Thank you, Linda Larson for opening a whole new world to me!
